D-Laid – Biog...

D-Laid aka, George Nicolae it's a DJ/Producer from Romania. He started his musical activity at 17 years old producing his first track for Fun Radio's playlists. In 1999 he appears for the first time live on the local stage. In 2000 he has his first important concert at the "TMBase00" Festival in front of 1500 people. In the same year the first song signed D-Laid appears on the festival's compilation, "TMBase00". Also in 2000 he is finalist in a competition organized by Radio France International with a track selected out from 300 others and released on a RFI compilation. Between 2001 and 2004 he continued to be active both as a DJ and a producer, making different materials for Era, EMI, Sub Records and Cat/Sony.

In 2005 the track "Wamintirile" managed to exceed Romanian borders, being the first track of this kind released on vinyl.The track was supported also by radios like: Proton, iBreaks, Breaks FM, Kiss FM and BBC Radio 1. It was played by notourious names on the breakbeat scene like Phantom Beats, Jay Cunning, Bengston, Angus Robinson, Ed 2000 and Emmanuel Fereira.The track was also played at the biggest breakbeat event on the planet "Breakspoll" and the biggest breakbeat club "Spectrum".This was not the only track signed D-Laid that went around the world and was played at big electronic music concerts.

In 2006 he got an collaboration offer from the Cat/Sony label which had as a result the co-production of the track "Stai, nu ma ocoli" nominated at the MTV Music Awards Romania, being also no. 1 in many music charts both on local radio and TV (MTV Top 40).

Throughout the years he managed to break the ice and climbed on a respectably position in the top of the best DJ and producers from Romania by his will, seriousity but also through his undoubtfull talent. As a DJ he was and still is a constant presence in the most well-known clubs and the biggest festivals in Romania playing with very well known foreign names as: Krafty Kuts, Plump Djs, Atomic Hooligan, The Rogue Element, General Midi, Hyper, Aquasky, Soul Of Man, Tom Real, Baobinga, The Breakfastaz, Will White, Backdraft, Donna Dee, Dj Vini (R.I.P), Alex Bau, Ludmilla and many others.
